Jaime Nuñez del Arco is a visual artist, writer and editor based in Quito, Ecuador. His bilingual prose, drawings and paintings -at the same time ironic, humorous and sentimental- are detailed observations on social issues, contemporary culture, relationships, loneliness and memory.

Recently, he showed a series of drawing installs at PARC Art Fair 2022 (Lima, Peru) and ArteBA 2021 (Buenos Aires, Argentina). In 2020, he opened Gloria Gaynor Was Right (N24 Gallery, Quito, Ecuador), and in 2019, Aquí y en Everywhere (Más Arte Gallery, Quito, Ecuador). That same year, he was part of the collective show The Exhausted Land (Klosterfelde Gallery, Berlin) along with Latin American and Caribbean artists like Teresa Burga, Quisqueya Henriquez and Adrián Balseca. Finally, the Saatchi Gallery (London) selected one of his pieces to appear at their celebrated Screen Project.

In the past, he has exhibited at La Habana (Cuba) and Cuenca (Ecuador) Biennales, as well as in Seattle (COCA), Barcelona (CCCB), Florence (Pitti Imagine), Münich and Ljubljana.

Jaime is founding partner and editor of Terminal, publishing project focused on Latin American visual artists, diasporic artistic practices, alternative visions of contemporary culture, politics and resistance discourses. As Terminal, he has been invited to international fairs like Printed Matter Art Book Fair, Material Art Fair, Miss Read, Rrréplica and Arts Libris. His work appears in several books by the renowned Taschen imprint and his 2019 publication, Art to make pancakes to, is part of the collections of the New York Public Library and the MACBA Museum in Barcelona.

Sus textos bilingües, dibujos y pinturas, tan irónicos como humorísticos y sentimentales, son observaciones detalladas sobre temáticas sociales, cultura contemporánea, relaciones personales, la soledad y los recuerdos.

Recientemente, Jaime mostró una serie de instalaciones de dibujos en la feria PARC 2022 (Lima, Perú) y en ArteBA 2021 (Buenos Aires, Argentina). En 2020 inauguró Gloria Gaynor Tenía Razón (N24 galería, Quito, Ecuador) y, en 2019, Aquí y en Everywhere (+ARTE, Quito, Ecuador); Ese mismo año participó en la colectiva The Exhausted Land (Klosterfelde Gallery, Berlin) junto a artistas Latinoamericanos y del Caribe como Teresa Burga, Quisqueya Henriquez y Adrián Balseca. Finalmente, la galería Saatchi (Londres) seleccionó una de sus obras para mostrar en su celebrado Screen Project.

Jaime es fundador de Terminal, editorial enfocada en artistas visuales latinoamericanos, prácticas artísticas diaspóricas, visiones alternativas de cultura contemporánea, política y discursos de resistencia. Como Terminal ha sido invitado a participar en espacios como Printed Matter Art Book Fair, Material Art Fair, Miss Read, Rrréplica y Arts Libris. Nuñez del Arco ha sido publicado por la influyente editorial Taschen y su libro de 2019, Art to make pancakes, forma parte de las colecciones de la Biblioteca Pública de Nueva York y del museo MACBA en Barcelona.
